20.Omoide Bridge
■Commentary
Opened in the Mifune region in January 1991, the Omoide Bridge is 86 meters long and 4 meters wide. It was built to replace the Mifune River Megane Bridge, a symbol of Mifune that was washed away by localized torrential rain on May 3, 1988. The bridge was named Omoide, meaning “memories” in Japanese, to associate it with the Megane Bridge, which carried many fond memories, through a public naming contest.
